El laboratorio de los dioses

AvailablePrice800 €

In 1859, Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species and shook the creationists. Fossil evidence demonstrated evolution and overturned teleological explanations. The scientific method works with what can be proved; a being that has never been seen and cannot be tested remains outside its field of interest. What if we were about to see evidence of a God — or something like one? The wave of AI changes the picture. Applied to humanoid robots, quantum chips and self-improving architectures could lead an AI to become conscious and perceive itself as an entity.

Would an artificial, conscious entity believe in God? Industry has evolved from the wheel to the chip: today’s machines are better than yesterday’s and worse than tomorrow’s. To a conscious robot, its creator would resemble a god; design, code and parameters would define its limits. If such intelligences came to manufacture themselves, humanity would have created Earth’s second intelligent being. If we are capable of engendering consciousness, the hypothesis of God acquires a scientific dimension.
